After performing many G7™ qualifications, Founder and President, Bruce Bayne was frustrated with the lack of tools available to monitor the condition of printing presses over time using the G7 methodology. Printers were asking for tools to help them monitor and maintain the G7 condition. SpotOn! was inspired by this need. Using very clear graphs and tables arranged in a ‘dashboard’ style layout, SpotOn! displays how a press or proofer is performing to the ISO 12647 standard for inks and overprints along with the G7 Neutral Print Density Curve and gray balance.
Bayne brings over 30 years of experience in the printing industry in both production and management at several newspapers, web and sheet-fed plants, color trade shops, as well as with a national supply company.
Bayne co-founded the Pacific Northwest Color Management User's Group. He is considered an expert by the printing industry on production workflow and color management. He was one of the first printing professionals to be trained as a GRACoL® Expert and can train GRACoL MasterPrinters™.
In 2006 Bayne started a two year journey to create SpotOn! software. After writing and working with a tool he wrote in Excel for six months, SpotOn! was created as an application that could be installed and easily used by printers, color management professionals and prepress departments.
SpotOn! Press is headquartered in Portland, Oregon and has dealers across North America.
