Coming Q2 2010
Version 2.0 of SpotOn!™ continues to be an easy-to-use process control tool with some powerful new features. The base package of Version 2.0 has new trending capabilities that will track paper metrics by paper, ink performance, and individual job metrics. We’ve expanded SpotOn! to include tracking and trending for those using the TVI-based method (FOGRA). This will compliment our existing focus on G7-based metrics.
Also included will be an enhance list of scanning spectrophotometers to make it even easier to incorporate SpotOn! into your process control program. SpotOn! will support IntelliTrax, SpectroDrive, other press-side scanning spectros, and several hand-held spectrodensitometers.
The new version of SpotOn! is also modular, so you only purchase the modules you need. Available Q2 2010 will be the following modules:
Proofing Package
SpotOn! Proofing can be used in photo studios, prepress shops, and content creator offices. It is a stand-alone module designed for customers to monitor and create Pass/Fail stickers for their proofs. Plus, Proofing includes a database to track and trend performance over time. Proofing can also be added to the base SpotOn! package enhancing proof-to-press tracking and trending.
Spot Color Package
This package is a stand-alone module and allows tracking of Pantone® and custom spot colors. It provides comparison to a reference and displays deviation from that reference. Packaging and flexo printers will find SpotOn! improves quality control for spot colors by showing the optimum density to run the spot color and how close that color is to the reference color. If the difference is too great this would indicate the color is out of spec and requires reformulation.
Curve Package
SpotOn! Curve is a base package module that adds plate correction curve generation for both G7 and TVI methods. These curves are based on historical data collected through the scanned data in SpotOn! Initial press calibration curves and ongoing fine-tuning curves can both be generated using this module. Because these curves are generated from live job data, they represent the most accurate press conditions.

For the company that wants it all, this package includes the base program with all modules at a bundled price.
